The 老司机福利网 Abeneefoo Kuo Honor Society inducted a record number of 109 students at its induction ceremony held recently in the Student Center Ballroom.

ABK is an honorary society comprised of students who have earned a 3.0 grade-point average and higher. Selected students must show outstanding abilities in academics, leadership and service. This historic induction showcases the outstanding academic and community service work USA minority students are doing at the University.

Historically, we have inducted between 30 and 35 students annually,鈥 said Dr. Carl Cunningham, director of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. 鈥淲e are so proud that we were able to spread the word and attract these outstanding students. This is just another effort in supporting students at USA.鈥

The purpose of ABK is to provide enrichment experiences for outstanding students and to promote academic excellence and leadership to the members and to students campus-wide.

ABK was founded in 1977 at the University of Georgia by Dr. Leroy Ervin, Dr. Ron McFadden and a group of academically talented African-American students. Abeneefoo Kuo is a Swahili phrase for 鈥渃ircle of honor.鈥
