Chamber Ensembles
The ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÍø Department of Music offers multiple chamber ensembles for students to join. All ensemble programs can be taken for one half credit (0.5) and are open by audition to all students at the University. See below for more information about each ensemble program.
Brass Ensembles
Brass Ensemble - MUO 119, 419, 519
The Brass Ensembles program, directed by Dr. Peter Wood, allows students to participate
in brass quintets and other mixed or like-instrument small brass ensembles. Students
interested in participating should contact Dr. Wood for more information.
Trumpet Ensemble - MUO 139, 439, 539
Trumpet Ensemble, directed by Dr. Peter Wood, meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
from 1:25-2:15pm and allows students to study and perform literature for all combinations
of trumpets. Interested students should contact Dr. Peter Wood for more information.
Horn Choir - MUO 140, 440, 540
Trumpet Ensemble, directed by Dr. Peter Wood, meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
from 1:25-2:15pm and allows students to study and perform literature for all combinations
of trumpets. Interested students should contact Dr. Peter Wood for more information.
Trombone Choir - MUO 141, 441, 541
Trombone Choir allows students to study and perform literature for all combinations
of trombones. Interested students should contract Dr. Arie VandeWaa for more information.
Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble - MUO 142, 442, 542
Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, directed by Dr. Clayton Maddox, allows students to study
and perform literature for all combinations of tubas and euphoniums. Interested students
should contact Dr. Maddox for more information.
Brass Choir - MUO 143, 443, 543
Brass Choir allows students to study and perform literature for large brass ensemble.
Interested students should contact Dr. Peter Wood for more information.
Woodwind Ensembles
Woodwind Ensemble - MUO 118, 418, 518
The Woodwind Ensembles program, directed by Dr. Amy Selkirk, allows students to participate
in small mixed woodwind groups (duos, trios, quartets, quintets, etc.) or in like-instrument
woodwind ensembles (clarinet quartet or clarinet choir, saxophone quartet, etc.).
Auditions are held at the beginning of each semester. Students already planning to
audition for Wind Ensemble, Symphony Band, or University Orchestra may have that audition
count as their Woodwind Ensemble audition. Students only planning to participate in
Woodwind Ensembles will need to contact Dr. Selkirk to arrange an audition.
Flute Choir - MUO 138, 438, 538
Flute Choir, directed by Dr. Andra Bohnet, meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-3:15pm
and allows students to study and perform literature for all combinations of flutes.

Clarinet Ensemble - MUO 145, 445, 545
Clarinet Ensembles, directed by Dr. Kip Franklin, allows students to study and perform
literature for all combinations of clarinets. All students enrolled in this course
participate in Clarinet Choir, and those interested may also participate in smaller
chamber groups (trios, quartets, etc.). Interested students should contact Dr. Franklin
for more information.
Voice/Piano/String
Chamber Singers - MUO 114, 414, 514
A small, select ensemble devoted to the performance of vocal chamber music. Audition
and instructor permission required. Interested students should contact Dr. Thomas
Rowell for more information.
Piano Ensemble - MUO 124, 424, 524
Piano Ensemble, directed by Dr. Doreen Lee, meets on Mondays from 4-5pm and allows
students to study and perform two-piano and piano-ensemble works. This ensemble is
required of piano majors and open to non-majors. Interested students should contact
Dr. Lee for more information.
String Ensemble - MUO 123, 423, 523
The String Ensemble, directed by Grace Kim, meets on Mondays from 6-8pm. Interested
students should contact Ms. Kim for more information.
Mixed Chamber Ensemble - MUO 129, 429, 529
This course allows for the study and performance of chamber literature for all combinations
of instruments and voice. Interested students should contact Dr. Andra Bohnet for
more information.
